POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Campus Pastor provides pastoral leadership and oversight to a campus. The Campus Pastor is responsible for promoting the full embodiment of the mission of Christ Community on a campus. Each campus pastor assists the Senior Leadership Team and serves with other Campus Pastors to give leadership and direction to the entirety of Christ Community.

The Campus Pastor will cultivate a relationship of trust, respect, and appreciation with the Senior Leadership Team. When a member of the senior leadership team has a dual role at a campus, the campus pastor will maintain primary responsibility to lead the campus and staff in collaboration with the senior leadership team pastor. The campus pastor and senior leadership team pastor will share the preaching schedule and some pastoral responsibilities as determined through mutual collaboration and virtuous cooperation.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

  • Have experience in pastoral ministry and a Masters of Divinity or equivalent
  • Exemplify a growing walk with God and love for Jesus Christ

  • Hold true to the theology and beliefs outlined in the EFCA Statement of Faith
  • Be a strong leader with organizational/administrative skills
  • Have the communication skills necessary to inspire others and communicate goals

  • Be a gifted preacher and teacher
  • Be willing to submit to authority
  • Love people; friendly and able to relate well with others
  • Possess the qualifications of an elder as stipulated by Scripture in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Pastoral Responsibilities:
    Church-wide
    • Work with the Executive Leadership Team and other campus pastors to fulfill the mission of Christ Community on a campus as well as the entirety of Christ Community.
    • Work with the Executive Leadership Team to shape a budget for Christ Community, taking into account both the needs of one campus and the needs of Christ Community as a whole.
    • Work with the campus staff to ensure quality communication and system development between the campus and the multisite office.
    • Participate in weekly teaching team meetings.
    Campus-specific
    • Provide leadership to campus staff to ensure missional and cultural alignment with all of Christ Community. 
    • Serve as the primary teaching voice at the campus.
    • Coordinate the preaching responsibilities of the campus.
    • Work with the campus staff to provide pastoral care and oversight to the campus congregation.
    • Work with the Pastor of Worship Arts (or corresponding Director or volunteer) to coordinate all corporate worship services at the campus.
    • Provide pastoral duties as needed. This may include, but is not limited to pre-marriage counseling, officiating weddings, general counseling, funeral planning and officiating, hospital visitation, baptism, prayer, and other pastoral needs as they arise.
    • Work with the campus staff to welcome guests into the life of the congregation.
    • Give direction to community groups leadership (as determined by campus structure).
    • Be a catalyst and contributor to outreach ministry relationships and initiatives 
    • Direct, assist, and mentor Pastoral Residents as assigned. 
    • Teach and lead the implementation of the adult formation pathway, Church for Monday, at the campus. 
    • Identify and develop key congregational leaders and potential leaders at the campus. 
    Leadership Team:

    In addition to focused leadership at a singular campus, the Campus Pastor will also give thought and input to the executive leadership of Christ Community. This team will meet weekly for prayer, sharpening, and communication and at other times as assigned.

    The Technical Director is responsible for overseeing, maintaining, and operating campus technical arts systems, supporting the ongoing mission of Christ Community.

    POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

    • Minimum of 2 years experience in technical arts, and/or worship arts
    • Able to lift a minimum of 25lbs.
    • Relate and work well with church staff and lay leadership
    • Able to communicate technical details to non-technical people
    • Able to train volunteers on booth operations
    • Proficiency with audio editing software (Logic, Audition or Audacity preferred)
    • Familiarity with ProPresenter, Yamaha digital sound boards, and Luminair software is preferred
    • Familiarity with video and podcasting production is desired

      PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

      • Serve Sunday morning as technical director at one of Christ Community’s campuses. 
      • Manage technical arts coordination and requirements for Sunday services and other special events
      • Provide technical arts assistance for events and ministries, both internal and external
      • Assess and properly staff campus events with audio, visual, and lighting needs
      • Work schedule includes weekends and evenings
      • Attend Worship Team rehearsals as needed
      • Assist in technical arts designs at campus (including but not limited to stages and booths)
      • Assist in recruiting and coordinating volunteers to be involved in technical arts teams
      • Provide training on booth operations for technical arts volunteer teams
      • Maintain an operational understanding of audio/visual/lighting equipment
      • Participate in documenting technical arts processes and procedures
      • Assist Worship Pastor and Director of Infrastructure as needed

      We are looking for childcare workers at all of our campuses. The childcare worker ensures that children enrolled in childcare (excluding Sunday morning programming) are physically and emotionally well cared for and spiritually nurtured during their classroom stay.

      POSITION PURPOSE

      • Care for children while their parents/guardians are participating in various ministries:
        • Pay friendly attention to each child
        • Talk in pleasant tones
        • Play with children during free time
        • Give gentle care to crying children
        • Follow verbal or written instructions from parents/guardians
        • Take part in activities so children can learn by imitation
        • Encourage and praise children’s efforts
      • Help children know God’s love by building a relationship with them 

      RESPONSIBILITIES

      • Deliver Bible lessons as scheduled by the Coordinator
      • Communicate classroom needs to Coordinator to ensure adequate supplies, resources, and equipment 
      • Arrive at the requested time each day
      • Cooperate with other workers
      • Follow all classroom guidelines as stated in the Policy and Procedures Handbook to guarantee that Christ Community’s established standard for child care is maintained

      EXPECTATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

      • Attend required Teacher Orientation/Child Protection Training annually
      • Good communication skills necessary to inspire others and communicate goals
      • Flexibility in an ever-changing ministry environment
      • Become acquainted with the developmental abilities of the children
      • Establish and maintain positive relationships with other employees, children, and parents/guardians
      • Support and promote the biblical teachings of Christ Community
      • There are physical demands that include but are not limited to lifting, bending over, assisting children on the playground, sitting on the floor to interact with children, and rising quickly
      • Ability to respond quickly to emergencies or situations that could quickly escalate into an emergency
