Why change to CSB?

History. We have evaluated our primary translation every 10-15 years, recognizing that language changes over time and ongoing scholarship provides better insight into translation approaches.

Translation availability. Since the publication of the ESV in 2001, a number of translations have been published that reflect high levels of accuracy as well as good English style.

Mission. As we seek to fulfill our mission of multiplying disciples, we continue to engage those who are less familiar with Christianity and the Bible. In light of this, we want a primary translation that is as readable as possible while still retaining the highest levels of accuracy and scholarship possible.
