Middle School Mid-Week Gathering will meet weekly at the Church from 6:00-7:45 P.M. Pizza will be available to purchase.
Middle School Youth Group is the place to connect and grow for any students from 6th-8th grade! Here, relationships begin and are deepened, and spiritual formation takes place. And we have a lot of fun while we’re at it!
Our gatherings begin with a laid-back time for games and connection with one another. Then, we move into a time of engaging teaching, small groups, and close the night in full-band worship with the high schoolers. Dinner is not provided, but there will be snacks!
The purpose of our weekly gatherings is to create an environment where students can encounter Jesus Christ, explore the Christian faith, and engage in formational Christian community. We hope students will feel welcomed and loved—that they have a place where they belong and are cared for deeply. Without a doubt, our students will be encouraged to grow in their knowledge and love of Jesus, regardless of their background or faith experience. They will also be challenged to consider what it looks like to live as a follower of Jesus in every part of life.
Christ Community is passionate about multiplying disciples who intentionally connect their Sunday faith to the rest of their week. We believe that Jesus redeems all of life and has a unique purpose and calling for His people in our relationships, our communities, our homes, and in the work we do every day.
In fact, our Monday lives are our greatest opportunity for growth and contribution as apprentices to Jesus. Though we grow in our apprenticeship to Jesus in many ways, the primary, intentional avenue for discipleship growth at Christ Community is Church for Monday.
Our prayer is that this nine- week journey will enrich and equip you for greater effectiveness in your walk with Christ. As you learn to walk with greater clarity in the Spirit, that blessing overflows to our church and our city.
Join us to study Saints & Scoundrels, by Nancy Guthrie. This is an in-depth study on ten different people who were close to Jesus, and a fresh look on what shaped and motivated John the Baptist, Peter, the Pharisees, Judas and more. This is a great study whether you have read the Bible all your life, or if reading it is a newer practice for you.
We’ll be meeting in a congregant’s home in southern KC, near Holmes and 99th Street. Upon registration, your leader will contact you with the address.
Participants are required to purchase a copy of the book prior to the beginning of study. Your leader will provide a study guide at the first meeting.
Book can be purchased HERE
