Weddings

We are glad you are considering Christ Community for your wedding and desire that it be one of the most joyous and spiritual occasions of your lives. We believe marriage is the lifelong union of one woman to one man for the purpose of mutual upbuilding and the formation of families.

General Info

Wedding ceremonies held at Christ Community are to acknowledge the importance of the vows you are making to one another before God. Both bride and groom must be in general agreement with the National Association of Evangelicals Statement of Faith.

For your ceremony, you may select your officiating pastor from our church staff (as available) or from another church. Officiants that are not part of the Christ Community staff must be in general agreement with the National Association of Evangelicals Statement of Faith.

Music

A technical staff person will be present at your rehearsal/ceremony to assist with technical elements. Wedding music should be appropriate for a religious ceremony.

Rehearsal

The rehearsal typically takes one hour. We recommend everyone involved in the wedding ceremony be present for the rehearsal. Date and time will be arranged with our wedding coordinator.

Marriage License

We require you to have a valid marriage license. For up-to-date wedding license information, please visit the appropriate website. For weddings at our Brookside Campus, click here. And for weddings at our Leawood or Olathe Campus, click here.

Your Wedding Day

Our church building is available to you for a total of four hours on your wedding day.

Premarital Counseling

To prepare for this life together and your wedding vows, we believe premarital counseling is important and require it be completed before your wedding at Christ Community. If you are a congregant of Christ Community, we offer premarital counseling through your campus pastor that includes sessions with an outside licensed counselor.

If you are receiving counseling from another church, a letter of premarital counseling completion must be sent to the Christ Community wedding coordinator.

If you are in need of a counseling resource, we will provide a list of suggested counselors.
